The deputy Prime Minister referred to the spring economic forecasts presented today by the European Commission. They show that in 2020 Poland's GDP will reduce by 4.3 percent, and this will be the lowest projected decline among EU countries. According to the Commission, the GDP of the entire European Union is expected to fall by 7.4 percent. Economic growth is expected to return in 2021, and Poland's GDP will then increase by 4.1 percent. The European Commission also forecasts that in 2020 unemployment in Poland will increase to 7.5 percent (in 2019 it was at 3.3 percent), while in 2021 it will fall to 5.3 percent. Experts of the European Commission also expect inflation in Poland at 2.5 percent this year, and in 2021 - 2.8 percent.
