"I decided to urgently deliver to Jawornik a new fire engine from a pool of 500 vehicles planned by the government as part of the modernization of the Volunteer Fire Brigades throughout Poland", Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki declared on Saturday referring to the loss of the vehicle by firefighters.

On Friday afternoon, heavy downpours brought a lot of destruction to the Podkarpackie province of Poland. The most difficult situation is in the Rzeszów, Łańcut, Przeworsk and Przemyśl poviats. On Saturday, the head of government referred to current events on Facebook. "The situation in Podkarpackie is difficult and at times dramatic, as in the case of the loss of a fire engine by firefighters from the Volunteer Fire Brigade Jawornik," he wrote. "I decided to urgently deliver a new vehicle to Jawornik (...). I give my thanks to the brave firefighters for their sacrifice in the rescue operation. We will not give in to the element", Morawiecki declared.
