The coalition talks among the United Right and the number of ministerial positions for coalition parties are still ongoing. It is no secret that the biggest dispute is between the ruling Law and Justice party and the Agreement party of deputy prime minister, Jarosław Gowin. More and more rumors are surfacing concerning the ruling party being tempted by the Polish People’s Party and the proposition for the party’s chairman, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz to become a minister.

“There was no offer made for the Polish People’s Party and its leader. We can tell the difference between members of the Kukiz’15 party and the Polish People’s Party. On some matters we are voting the same as our colleagues from Kukiz’15. I think that this cooperation can be even more efficient than it is today”, stated Ryszard Czarnecki, MEP of the Law and Justice party.

On Friday, MP of the Polish Coalition, consisting of the Polish People’s Party and Kukiz’15, Jarosław Sachajko said they should try and go into coalition with the ruling party in order to influence changes in the country, and now it is rumoured that it could be Sachajko who would take the position of the minister of agriculture from Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski.

“It’s not only what I want, it’s about Polish interests. I prepared a program for the development of agriculture which is very similar to what the Law and Justice party prepared in 2014 but has yet failed to fulfil. If I was able to realise the citizens’ agricultural program of the Kukiz’15 party, I could finally help out Polish farmers who, and there’s no better way to put this, are being robbed by huge corporations”, said Sachajko.

The eventual accepting of the alleged offer of the ruling party by the Polish People’s Party puts in doubt the future of Gowin’s Agreement party in the United Right. According to “Rzeczpospolita” daily, the Agreement party rejected the proposition of the shape of the new government before the Thursday session of coalition talks.

“I don’t believe there are any reasons for Jarosław Gowin to leave now. His disagreement with the ruling party was based on the problem of conducting elections during the pandemic and that problem was resolved. It seems he has more problems inside his own party, but it is rumoured to be over too”, Tomasz Sakiewicz, the editor-in-chief of "Gazeta Polska" commented on the matter.

The shape of the new government will most likely be announced by the end of the week or the beginning of next week.
