"We are not condemned to make a choice between a total lack of restrictions or a total lockdown. There is a middle route, the common sense route, which assumes a number of rigors and restrictions. Choosing this middle route assumes that we will all obey these restrictions." said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a special press conference.

"At the moment we are dealing with a situation in which 152 districts of Poland are to be a part of the red zone - this is almost half of Poland. When we take a closer look at these districts, we can see that they are quite densely populated. Although the 152 districts do not even make up 50% of the area of Poland, the number of people who live there definitely exceeds 70% of the entire population." followed the Minister of Health Adam Niedzielski.
