The head of the government also referred to the regulations on digital platforms planned by the European Union, informing that Poland would propose its own solutions to the Union.
After Twitter blocked the private account of US President Donald Trump, there is a discussion around the world about the possible regulation of the operation of large digital platforms in individual countries. The bill regarding such regulations has been announced by, among others, Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro.
In his post on Facebook the head of government emphasized that the society in Poland is attached to freedom, and that censorship was in force during the Polish People's Republic for 50 years.
"Recently, we are dealing with more and more practices that seemed to have passed into the past. Free speech censorship, a domain of totalitarian and authoritarian regimes, is returning today in the form of a new, commercial mechanism to combat those who think differently," we read in the post.
