"Poland bought 20 million doses of AstraZenac vaccine. 16 million doses are listed in the National Vaccination Program. Additionally, it has also guaranteed 4 million doses for resale to the Eastern Partnership and Western Balkans countries, such as Ukraine, Georgia and Albania," said Miłkowski.

The deputy minister noted that formalities were in progress on the formal EU consent to resell the vaccine. The agreement would be trilateral, concluded between the interested country, the producer and the EU.

The deputy minister recalled that AstraZeneca's initial declarations assumed the delivery of all doses in the first half of the year.

"Now there is no confirmation from this company as to how many doses will be transferred to us in the second quarter, but most likely the contract will not be completed in the second quarter of this year," he said.
