According to the Ministry of Health on Sunday, laboratory tests confirmed 7038 new coronavirus infections, most in Mazovia, where 1339 were reported. Ninety-four people died. In the last 24 hours, 37.400 SARS-CoV-2 tests were made, including 9736 antigen tests.
According to Sutkowski, that's a high number of infections for weekend data and an average number of tests performed. In his view, the weekend death toll is inadequate for the current situation.
‘By the number of people hospitalized, by the increased number of people under ventilators and the increased number of tests performed, I conclude that the pandemic is growing,’ he added.
According to the president of Warsaw Family Doctors, the further development of the pandemic depends ‘to the greatest extent on ourselves, on our discipline, solidarity, responsibility’.
‘We must expect an increased wave of infections. We're in the run-up to the third wave, let's just hope it's lower than it was in the fall,’ he said.
