On Monday, at the Presidential Palace, Andrzej Duda met with representatives of the health care sector involved in combating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting was also attended by prof. Piotr Czauderna, chairman of the Healthcare Council recently appointed by the president.
"I assure you that here in the Presidential Palace, in the years to come, while I will continue to be president, there will be an uninterrupted debate on health care and how to make it even better," said the president, opening the meeting.
He stressed that "the Polish health service did really well during the coronavirus pandemic".
"We did not have a situation where there would not be enough places in hospitals for people (...); fortunately, our doctors did not have to choose who to give health protection measures, life-saving measures such as a respirator, and who not," said Duda.
