The Prime Minister, during a press conference on the epidemic situation, pointed out that the data that were coming in, regarding infections, allowed them to make decisions related to unfreezing the economy.
"These are data that provide some grounds for such cautious optimism. Probably the worst in terms of infection is behind us," he said.
"This is the hope that for the coming months we have to fill our actions in the area of epidemics, in the area of coronavirus pandemic," the Prime Minister added while encouraging people to get vaccinated.
Prime Minister Morawiecki together with the Minister of Health Adam Niedzielski announced the schedule for unfreezing the economy in Poland.
Allowing some outdoor sports activities, resumption of the sanitary regime of shopping malls, the return of children of classes I-III to schools and hybrid learning in older classes were announced by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.
From 1 May we will allow some outdoor sports activities, but also from indoor sports facilities and swimming pools. Shortly after the long weekend - from May 4 - shopping malls and furniture stores will be open but with the sanitary regime - Morawiecki said on Tuesday while outlining a plan to unfreeze the economy, due in May.
He informed that children of classes I-III would return to schools after the long weekend and students of classes IV-VIII and secondary students would be able to return to schools in hybrid mode on May 15.
Hotels will be allowed to be open again on May 8 and restaurants and cafes on May 15, "for now only in outdoor gardens," announced the Prime Minister. He also announced the opening of art galleries and museums.
