The Sejm - the Lower House of the Polish parliament - dealt with the government's bill on the ratification of the European Union's own resources, which is necessary in all member states to activate payments from the EU Reconstruction Fund.
Mateusz Morawiecki spoke up at the beginning of the discussion.
"17 years ago Poland joined the European Union. Today, on the eve of such an important decision, it is necessary to recall how strongly that decision was based on social consensus," stressed the Prime Minister.
The head of government appealed to the deputies: "Let us once again say a loud 'Yes' to the development of Poland and the flourishing of Poland, thanks to EU funds. This is a great chance for a quick exit from the pandemic."
