In Brzeziny (Wielkopolskie Voivodeship) a Day Care Centre and Senior Citizen Club will be opened this year. The Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg, handed over a symbolic cheque for PLN 600 thousand from the financial resources of the "Senior+" program to the commune authorities.
“I am glad that the department I head can contribute to the creation of such necessary facilities," said Minister Maląg. She also stressed that a good climate around families is created equally by local authorities and non-governmental organizations. She encouraged the latter to apply for the "Active+" program. Its budget in the years 2021-2025 is PLN 200 million.
As part of the "Senior+" program, 85 such institutions have already been established throughout Wielkopolska. By 2025, the Ministry of Family and Social Policy will have allocated another PLN 300 million, i.e., PLN 60 million a year, for creating new Homes and Clubs. Thanks to this year's edition, 15 facilities will be opened in Wielkopolska, thus increasing their number to 100 in the region.
“The last five years have seen the introduction of permanent mechanisms making the autumn of life easier and more optimistic” - said Minister Maląg. She recalled the 14th pension, the favourable pension adjustment, and other programs aimed at the elderly.
“Further directions are set by the Polish Order, such as the introduction of tax-free pensions, which will benefit 90% of those receiving this benefit,” Minister Maląg added.
