The conversation in "Signals of the Day" concerned the Three Seas Initiative, the summit of which is being held in Sofia, Bulgaria. The Head of the International Policy Bureau and the Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the President spoke, among other things, about the goals set for the project.

“The Three Seas Initiative is one of the fastest-growing political initiatives in the international world today. It's barely 6 years since the first meeting, in 2015 on the sidelines of the UN in New York, and then the first summit in 2016 and see, back then it was just a bunch of countries coming together to discuss what they could do together. Today, this is a major initiative. 12 Member States between the Adriatic, Baltic and Black Seas. Strategic partnership with the US and with Germany. The Vice-President of the European Commission is also here, and representatives of France, the United Kingdom, Japan and the Middle East, the countries of the Middle East, are also coming with us today, which shows that this is, today, one of those initiatives which are seen around the world as precisely the engine room of future economic development,” said Szczerski.

“Because this is the purpose of the Three Seas Initiative, to make this region an engine room for development for Europe and also an attractive place for investment, attracting economic cooperation for countries all over the world, including those as distant from us as the Middle East, Asia and the USA. And it has succeeded because the Three Seas Initiative has had very clear goals from the very beginning. To build transport, telecommunications and energy infrastructure here - and today we are also adding research, development and science to this - to show that we can make this region a centre of innovation for the whole Europe,” he added.
